Germans Attempt Shower Record

BERLIN
Ten Germans are attempting to soap themselves down for 101 hours in the hope of breaking the record for the world’s longest shower.

The two women and eight men aged between 18 and 22 from Hoevelhof in western Germany began their attempt on Wednesday and will try to remain under the constant stream of water until Sunday. Each participant is allowed a 10 minute break every hour for food, drink and toilet trips and to rub in more cream to protect their skin from the water. A doctor is also on hand to make sure the lack of sleep does not affect their health.

Spokesman Patrick Foerster where the attempt is being carried out said: “The atmosphere is excellent.” The winner gets £1,300 (Rs 1 lakh) prize money and will be put forward for entry into the Guinness Book of Records.
